A website doesn't just magically appear on the internet. Here at JH, we take a 6-step approach to building websites.
Step 1
An account manager will meet with you to assess your needs. If it's determined that the project scope is a good fit for you and for us we move into a high level proposal. This proposal outlines the project and budget. Upon approval, you'll be introduced to your project manager.
The project manager's role is to be the go-to person for the client and the internal team. Ensuring that the final product matches what was promised during the initial proposal. We'll start with a statement of work which will detail out your project specifics including things like a sitemap, custom functionality and how you'll be able to manage your website. Now the fun begins, as we bring in a designer to get the website moving.
Step 2
You'll have a chance to share your goals for the website, brand requirements and talk about your site visitors. A designer will ask more questions to help better understand the flow of a site visitor through your website. From that meeting, initial wireframes are put together to ensure the hierarchy of the homepage. Upon approval, full scale mockups are created for both desktop and mobile to ensure a seamless experience for the end user.
Step 3
Once designs are approved, our development team gets to work. Depending on the scope of your project, 2-4 developers could be working on your website. The developer's role is to ensure that the website not only functions as the designer intended, but that security is also factored in to the final project. We take security very seriously here.
Step 4
After the development team does their work, you'll receive a beta site or test site. Your project manager will teach you how to use your new site so that the proper content can be added. Additionally, you'll have a chance to use the site as one of your users would to ensure everything is working as expected.
Step 5
Launch day is really exciting for us because it means it's time to show the world your new website. Our team runs through a checklist to ensure everything is functioning properly before we update DNS and have a celebration.
Step 6
Your website is now live! That's the end of the project. But we hope it's not the end of our relationship. Your account manager can help you determine what happens after launch. Do you need an ads campaign to help drive traffic and new customers? Do you need a maintenance package to allow for continuous enhancements to your website? We have many options of what comes next!
